advertisement

The Democratic presidential running mates Barack Obama and Joe Biden are doing a better job in the debates, according to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

By a 21 point margin, 50%-29%, voters said the Democrats had the debate edge over rival Republican running mates John McCain and Sarah Palin, while 10% of respondents said the two tickets were equally as good and 4% said neither was good.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

So much for Sarah Palin blowing Joe away, eh?  Say it ain't so, Sarah.

Oh, and also, the first three day tracking poll with full samples after the VP debate are out for Gallap.  The results?  Obama up 50-42 his tenth straight daily statistically significant lead.   Guess Americans didn't like what they saw.  Palin didn't end any doubts after all.

Not trusting that MainStreamMedia here, spif.  Do you have a poll from the Wasilla Wailer?

BTW, I just heard David Gregory call Palin's debate performance "successful."  Heh.

It's fun to watch mainstream reporters trying so hard to be even-handed.

He is, to uhm *fires up Google* Beth Wilkinson, who was the US Attorney who got the death penalty for Tim McVeigh, and later was VP and corporate counsel at Fannie Mae.  She resigned from Fannie Mae last month.

Tomorrow's debate is a "town hall' style meeting.....which means no podiums........that means McCain won't have anything to hold on to when he goes white knuckle livid at Barak.....

Can you imagine if he loses it on stage and pummels or gets in Obama's face.

Damn................the scary thing is........I can see it happen, though.

Did you see the two polls release today for VA?  SurveyUSA has Obama 53-43, Suffolk Obama 51-39.  Two debates left, but if VA goes Dem this year, it's over.

I don't think McCain can build a feasible winning map without Virginia. He would have to win Colorado back AND some other state and I just don't see that state there yet. Pennsylvania maybe?

I'm not sure it will be PA, where some polls are starting to show double-digit leads for Obama.  I think it was Chuck Todd on MTP this weekend (although it might have been someone on This Week) who noted that PA doesn't really look any better for McCain than MI, but rather that McCain just had to pick one to fight for.

At this point I'm cautiously optimistic.  I think Obama has a really good shot at breaking 300 EVs.  Unless something pretty drastic changes, it's an Obama win.  And while it's terrible that this economy is starting to cause real pain, the economic problems are also likely to last well past the election, keeping the debate in Obama's territory.

It's just not a Republican year.

WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT THIS ELECTION CANNOT BE BASED ON MAKING HISTORY.

WHETHER YOUR BLACK, WHITE, MAN, WOMAN, DEMOCRAT, REPULICAN WHO CARES.

IF WE DO NOT CHOOSE WISELY WE WILL MAKE OUR OWN HISTORY WHETHER IT BE SUFFERING ECONOMICS, OR THE THREAT OF FORIEGN COUNTRIES AND THE RISK OF BEING ATTACKED AGAIN THE AMOUNT OF LIVES WE LOST ON 9/11 IN 1 DAY AND THE AMOUNT OF LIVES WE HAVE LOST OFF OUR TURF IN THE MIDDLE EAST IN 6 YEARS IS VERY CLOSE.

TRULY SPEAKING I BELIEVE THAT WE AS A COUNTRY ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO OVERCOME ANY ECONOMIC CRISIS WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND IT WAS WORSE THAN, WE CANNOT ALLOW THE NUMBERS ON WALL STREET DISCOURAGE US AS THESE ARE RESULTS IN THE MARKET AND THE BANKS GETTING THE HELP THEY WANTED IN THE FORM OF A FAST BLANK CHECK. JUST REMEMBER WHOM EVER WE VOTE FOR SHOULD THEY WIN AND SHOULD THEY FAIL ARE WILLING TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR OR LOUDLY BE ABLE TO ADMIT WE CHOSE THE RIGHT PERSON DESPITE OF IT OR COURSE NOT. IF ALL GOES WELL I THINK WE WOULD, BUT IF IT DON'T ARE REALLY ARE WE.......

FELLOW AMERICANS CHOOSE WISELY FOR THE COUNTRY NOT FOR HISTORY..... JUST REMEMBER BOTH CAMPAIGNS CAN SAY WHAT THEY WANT DO YOUR RESEARCH NOT BY COMMERCIALS BUT BY FACTS AND HISTORY OF ALL INVOLVED........

McCain continues to stumble and flail about.
He cannot separate himself and his political philosophy from “W”.
A vote for McCain is a vote for more of the same.

Bush Legacy
-Never ending war based on lies
-Collapse of US and world financial systems
-Crumbling economy
-Largest expansion of U.S Government in history
-Smashing individual rights - Constitution “just a piece of paper”
-Most divisive leader ever - Us vs Them, F’em
-Largest US budget defecit
-Destroyed US standing in world affairs
-Expanded use of signing documents and Executive Orders
-Won’t release records from Executive Office
-”Free Market” capitalism with no oversight backfires
-Voter suppression
-Lowered standard of living for the average American
-Record oil prices at the pump, record oil profits for his buddies
-Most vacation time of any US President while in office
-Destruction of the middle class
-Fewest press conferences of all time.
-Katrina “you’re doing a **** of a job, Brownie”

Please add to Bush’s Legacy, I know I left out more than a few.

That's what happens when "Mumsy and Pater" bail their child out of EVERY single problem in his life, not allowing him to take responsibility (or the consequences) of his actions.

He still refuses to acknowledge that he screwed up and that he screwed the American people in the process.

"Geoooooorgie, you've got some splainin' to do."
